Congratulations to our latest Nettie winners!

FOR almost two decades, Susan Lattimer has been one of the people quietly keeping her clinic running behind the scenes – solving problems, keeping everyone organised and always finding time to look out for her colleagues.
Described as the “heartbeat” of Gortlands Vets, Susan is the person colleagues turn to when something needs sorting. And whether it’s sourcing an urgently needed item, organising stock, helping the nursing team or simply taking the time to ask a colleague if they’re okay, she is always ready to help.
Her dedication, knowledge and kindness have now been recognised with a Nettie Award.
Susan is among our latest round of winners in June and July who will receive a Nettie for demonstrating VetPartners’ values of being respectful, supportive, dedicated, approachable and collaborative.
All the winners have been rewarded with a Love2Shop voucher, a cuddly Nettie mascot and a certificate in recognition of how much they are appreciated by colleagues.

Leigh Roberts, who nominated Susan for a Nettie, said: “Susan truly is the heartbeat of our clinic. Whether she likes it or not, she is the first port of call if you have a problem that needs sorting. She enjoys a challenge and will always do her best to help.”

Susan’s role encompasses almost every aspect of clinic life. A valued member of the nursing team, she has extensive knowledge and is often the person making sure everyone knows what they’re doing and that everything is organised.
New graduate farm vet Gavin Gurnell has made an extraordinary first impression since joining Riverview Vets in Cork, quickly earning the trust of both clients and colleagues.
Despite only recently starting his veterinary career, Gavin has already developed a reputation for making clients feel at ease, with some even asking for his name after their consultations so they can remember him.
His ability to connect with clients has impressed colleagues at Riverview, who nominated him for a Nettie.
Taking on new challenges

When All Creatures Vets’ Castleblayney office moved into new premises and welcomed a small animal clinic, Elaine McElearney, pictured left, and Nadine McGarvey, right, embraced the change with enthusiasm – taking on new challenges and helping to make the transition a success.
From welcoming small animal clients and assisting with morning admits to expanding their knowledge so they could confidently answer pet-related questions, both have thrown themselves into their evolving roles.
They have also become passionate advocates for their practice, looking for new ways to promote the business and strengthen relationships with clients.
When the team highlighted the importance of promoting Pet Health Plans (PHP) and encouraging Google reviews – helping clients understand the value of the services available to them while supporting customer retention – Elaine and Nadine immediately embraced the challenge.
And they haven’t just risen to it – they have excelled, so have been rewarded with a shared Nettie award.
