INSPIRING our practice leaders with fresh ideas and new skills helps them to grow and develop fulfilling roles, as well as provide the best possible support for their teams.
Fourteen small animal clinical directors and practice managers this week gathered at Hodson Bay Hotel in Athlone for the latest session in our Senior Leaders Programme – the first time the course has been run in Ireland.
The nine-month course is developed and managed by our Business Support Manager team and covers five modules - Leadership, People/HR, Strategy and Finance, Business Planning and Regroup (delegating and coaching).
This week’s session was led by our Business Support Director Fiona Nichol and Business Support Manager Fiona Andrew.

All Creatures Veterinary Group practice manager Aideen Keenan is among the first VetPartners Ireland colleagues to attend the Senior Leaders Programme, and is delighted at having the opportunity to learn more.
Aideen said: “I am really enjoying the course and it is a great opportunity to learn from each other. You also realise you are not on your own and everyone has the same kind of challenges and we are solving them together. That is one of the main benefits of the practice being part of a larger group.”
VetPartners Ireland BDD Austin Donnelly said: “This is the first course we have delivered in Ireland, and it has been a big success. We have had a lot of positive feedback and already there is a lot of interest in the next cohort.

“One of the main benefits of attending is that it provides colleagues across the group to network with people from other practices and learn how other people are approaching certain challenges. It is also a good opportunity for people to refresh their leadership and management skills.”
As well as lots of hard work, there was still time for some fun. Delegates at this week's session enjoyed an invigorating dip in Lough Ree, and were captured by a drone camera.

Anyone interested in attending the VetPartners Senior Leaders course should speak to their Business Development Director about enrolment, to then be added to the waiting list.
