A HEAD nurse who selflessly worked behind the scenes to support colleagues during a challenging time is amongst our July Nettie winners.
Carla Reid, who works at Parklands Veterinary Group in Portglenone, was a tower of strength to team members when the practice was navigating the upheaval of moving into a new building and merging its server.
She collaborated with colleagues to make sure everything was on track, as well as checking in with team members to make sure no one felt overwhelmed with what they had to do.
Meanwhile, a senior vet at the practice who looked after the farm team handed in their notice, sending shockwaves through the team. However, Carla stepped in once again to help out and reassure her colleagues that all would be okay.
Proud colleague Richard Gilbert, nominated Carla for a Nettie for demonstrating our values of being respectful, supportive, dedicated, approachable and working collaboratively.
Every month VetPartners awards 10 Netties to colleagues across the VetPartners family who demonstrate our values.
They receive a £250 Love2shop voucher, a cuddly Nettie mascot and a certificate.
He said: “Carla is incredibly deserving of a Nettie as she’s been quietly supporting the non- clinical reception and admin team for years – not seeking recognition or reward but doing so out of her own dedication to the practice team and our clients.”
Carla has since joined the Portglenone Management Team and is working on behalf of the practice’s nursing and reception team. She has also completed the VetPartners Senior Leaders course.
Anna Jones, vet at Riverview Vets in Cork, was amongst our June Nettie winners.
Despite navigating the challenges of relocating from the bustling streets of London to the tranquil surroundings of Cork, vet Anna Jones, has seamlessly integrated into the practice team since she joined in January.
Her infectious positivity and can-do attitude have made her a key pillar of the practice, and her colleagues wanted to nominate her for a VetPartners Nettie for being such an invaluable credit to the team.
Practice manager Paula Woulfe and vet Joanne Coughlan nominated her for a Nettie.
Paula said: “Whether it's managing a tricky phone call, assisting with payments, or handling complex clinical cases, Anna’s dedication and attention to detail with clients and patients is incredible and she leaves no stone unturned so that every pet receives the best possible care.”
Joanne added: “Anna has always been a pleasure to work with. She’s incredibly reliable and is always at the end of the phone if anyone wants her advice or a chat.”
